if you had it to do over again?
by: pnmIf you knew then what you know now, what would you have done differently before or during Rush?

I think the biggest thing is I wish I had gone in with a more open mind. I know that sounds so cliche but I was very harsh towards a few houses that, looking back now, I think I could've very much enjoyed my time in had I received a bid. I picked at the smallest things and made myself believe that certain houses weren't "good enough" because they did this or did that. I was also very invested in reputations and rumors, this site aiding in that. I went into rush knowing I didn't want a handful of certain houses because they were known for this and that.
Because of my preconceived ideas, I didn't have happy, fun rush. I mean, parts were fun and enjoyable but for the most part I was definitely held back by my own thoughts.
Surprisingly, I actually ended up pledging one of the houses I originally didn't like lol. I just want y'all PNMs to know that you never know what will happen. Rumors and reputations are so shallow and this site 100% feeds on people's fears. I love my house and I hope all of you can soon say the same!!! Can't wait to meet all of y'all!!!

BRING A FAN AND AN UMBRELLA NO MATTER WHAT!!!! If you wear heels, bring flip flops.
Also go in with an open mind. I know everyone says this but seriously, throughout the week you may realize that the house you stalked on Instagram isn't all you thought or wanted it to be! Xox

This may seem funny - learn the Greek alphabet!
I was really confused the first day trying to remember what letters were and correlating them to each house (Triangle is Delta, that's a Gamma?, T is Tau, X is. Chi) and then at the end of the day remembering which house did that happen in XO or AXO, DG or DZ, KD or KKG or
APhi, Phi Mu or PiPhi? A slight exaggeration - my favorites did stand out - but wish I wasn't picking up the Greek alphabet during IWTs!!!!!
So I was that person with an open mind! Clueless really going in. It did work out - had a very good, "full card" rush and got my favorite.
I did have recs and in retrospect that really helped. They were written by family, friends a few teachers. I gave them resumes but with a few exceptions (my Mom and an aunt) never really paid much attention to what house the family friends and teachers were in - they submitted directly to each house with allot on line. None were from Bama so their experience really didn't correlate anyway.
Probably should have least learned all the names of the houses. \n\n\n\n\n
