prioritized

Are PNMS with high grades prioritized during ice water teas for AXO, XO , PM etc?? Like do they give the girls with high gpas to important people in the house to get to know them. And then girls they already know they are going to cut to less prominent members?

Yes. But those houses focus on more than just grades. The complete package girls get rushed by the top members. You can have a 4.0 or even a 5.0, but if you're not involved, well-rounded, aka the complete package, you'll spend IWTs talking with the group in charge of low scoring the bottom girls and getting them dropped asap.

Yeah, but what if your involvement and resume is kick ass but your GPA is 3.6-3.8?

All of those houses will take a 3.6, so if your resume is impressive on top of that, you'll be fine!

Those houses put just as much emphasis on your entire resume as they do your grades. If you think just a super high GPA will get you a bid at one of those, you would be wrong.

I had a 4.3 and was cut by AXO and XO after IWTs and PM after philanthropy.

Top rushees get to speak with the higher ups in the house. Bottom girls are paired with the "score them low and get them out" crew. GPA is just one component of being a top pnm.

Just relax and go through with an open mind. You'll land where you belong and you just have to trust the process. But don't think because you have a great GPA you're getting a bid from one of those houses. There's more to it than just grades. Just setting realistic expectations for you.

A junior at Bama this year got accepted to every Ivy League school and chose Bama

Look it up. And look up a few other stats - like the number of national merit scholars (more than any other school on the country), starting salary rank, etc.

And do F--- yourself while you do.

Roll Tide.

Multiple people please. Since people name names on her so easily lets hear the names. One kid went to Alabama who turned down the ivied for financial reasons. Which is smart because he will probably get an advanced degree in the future. Fact is Alabama is a very easy school to get into. That does not mean that smart people don't choose Alabama they do, however, that is mainly based on finances because bama throws a ton of money at accomplished students especially out of staters.

but essentially if you are sought after you will get paired with a influential person? Because I talked to an alum and she said that sometimes a really good PNM could get dropped just because she was paired with a girl who didn't have much say in the house

Not in my house. If you're a top pnm, we know exactly who you are and you will be paired up with the girls in our house most similar to you.

TBH we already know if you don't have a chance, whether it's your grades, reputation, etc, and those girls are put in the "no" group and the actives rushing them know to vote them low to get them cut that round.

I know it sounds mean, but there are thousands of girls rushing, and every house has to have a process in place for keeping the girls they have earmarked as top girls and releasing the girls they don't want asap, so those girls have plenty of time to find their perfect house. You'll understand when you're on the other side next year.

I went to an elite boarding school, had a 3.8, and had a good list of extracurriculars that I was dedicated to but got dropped from all but 4 houses, but then girls who were pageant queens or cheer captains with (self-proclaimed) <3.2 GPA got full schedules back. It's really just a gamble each year imo

It's more than what you look like on paper after the first round. After that, it's conversations and appearances. If you can't carry a conversation with a stranger (and I mean CARRY), you will probably be cut. In the later rounds, it's about charm or charisma.
