why can't you wear a watch during recruitment?

It's not proper etiquette. It goes back to tradition and it's "rude" to wear a watch at formal gatherings because it makes you seem like you need your watch to check what time it is so you can leave already. It's outdated but I highly suggest not wearing one. Some girls will say they were able to sneak theirs into the house, but if your Rho Chi or JBoards see it they will ask you to take it off.
