How do sororities cut? Do the members vote on each girl individually?

This information falls under membership selection and is not to be discussed with non-initiated members. Every sorority does it differently, so everyone may talk about you in a group meeting or the girls you talked to each round will vote on you separately or the decision will be made some other way. Your recs usually play into the decision too. But you won't know exactly how it all works until you're initiated and on the other side of rush

Ok nerd. This site is anonymous, so you could tell her exactly how your house does it, but just not say what house you're in.

In my house, the group of girls that talked to you that round all vote on you on a scale of 1 to 5. That evening all girls scores are totaled and the lowest score girls are dropped. For the gray area/girls with ties scores, we go through them individilually as a house and vote whether or not to keep them or cut.

So in hour house, is it total scores or average scores? I guess that means if more girls talk to you = better, and if you have only 1 then that's a bad sign?

Also for all houses, is it possible for one girl to totally throw you under the bus and veto you if she finds something she doesn't like (for not really a "good" reason)?

We make sure the same number of actives talk to every rushee to keep it fair with scoring. Don't worry about how many girls talk to you though - different houses rush differently.

And regarding your veto question, one girl could try to throw you under the bus, but we're all still going to vote on you, so if her reason is dumb or most girls in our house don't like her, her reasons to cut you may not sway the majority of votes.

Don't worry about this stuff - just try to relax and have fun and meet some new people!

Adding on this this, the max score you can get is 20 per round. Rarely anyone gets that score. We're all trained really hard to not be nice when scoring so average score is around 11-14. Your GPA and legacy gets you points in the end when we are voting on our bid list. My sorority also votes on our bid list BEFORE pref. So technically you could be horrible in this round and tell us you hate us, but if you scored high enough you'd get a bid.

Most houses rate you on a scale that the girl above gave. HOWEVER in some houses they have different rules that slightly change this depending on if you are a legacy or if some girls really try to fight for you. Like some houses must invite you back once if you're a legacy.
