social media presence

by: Weird

This may be a stupid question to ask but I know that a lot of actives go look at pnms social media, especially insta. Well, basically I didn't have an insta til like a month ago so I don't have that many followers or get that many likes on photos. It's just intimidating kind of when you see other pnms social media accounts that have upwards of 1000 followers and 200-300 likes minimum on all of their photos. Am I overthinking this or will I actually be adversely affected? Would it be better for me to just delete it until rush is over because I'm not social-media savvy?

To be blunt, it's kind of weird to me that you you're not too in-tuned with social media. I don't mean that to sound shallow, but we live in a society where being up to date on insta, twitter, facebook, etc reflects our personalities/characters. If you chose not to be involved with that stuff then that's absolutely fine but it's just kind of weird and I wouldn't mention that to any actives when you rush.
But anyways, I wouldn't delete your insta. Put it on private and start following people. I know there are tons of posts on the class of 2021 Facebook where people have listed their instas and if they see "alabama 21" or something like that in your bio then they usually follow back. however, do not follow any actives.

You can put something on your profile like "Finally on Insta" or something to reflect this and do keep it on private so the lack of social media savvy does not hit people in the face. What about Facebook? Did you stay off Facebook too??

I would keep it the way it is. If you don't have a ton of followers but also only have a few posts I think the actives will understand it's new. And think about it this way... If a house is gonna cut you for not being social-media savvy, is that a house you would really feel comfortable in? If they genuinely think that having more followers on Instagram - probably the most shallow and manufactured/fake social media site out there - makes you a better person, is that really an attitude you want to live with for 4 years?

I think the answer is no. That's just my perspective.
