It is in name only... and a status symbol to some which is ridiculous and a chip on the shoulder to others, which is also ridiculous.

My sorority is considered old row and I can tell you that there are some OR chapters who think this means something and some who are much more chill. I did not pledge to be OR... I pledged bc it was my favorite house on that day and I made a good decision for me.

That said, there has been ONE party called old row all year and there is a t shirt. That is literally it. No one is paying dues to a beer company or anyone else. No girl (of value) sits around and discusses who is new row and who is not. That is left to girls who only care what others think and boys who sit in those old houses thinking that it matters.

We are all strong in our own ways and don't need to gossip or be jealous or snobby. If a fraternity didn't want to swap with someone, that's their pathetic loss. If your sorority is NR and jealous, be proud of your sisters and don't gossip. If you are OR and think that actually means something in 2017, get over yourself.. Be proud wherever you land and don't let anyone make you feel bad....
