I'm always so curious which houses are REALLY the most desired during rush, because I think a lot of PNMs will tell their friends they loved ABC because that is a "top tier" houses on campus, which actually they liked XYZ the most, but since that's a "lower tier" house, they don't want to admit it or talk about it openly.

Honestly I think that if every girl was coming in from OOS with no clue about the Greek system at Alabama, the most wanted houses would be different because old row houses couldn't just rely on being old row.
I will say I think alpha chi puts on the best rush out of everyone hands down. They make every pnm feel very wanted even if there's no shot

Oh, absolutely. If you are OOS and have no intention of staying in Alabama after college, "old row" means nothing to you. You want the chapter that will provide the best experience/sisterhood, not which will make mother dearest proud. I do think recently in-state PNMs have started to think this way too, but the name certainly holds more weight for them.

I'm an OOS sophomore and rushed last year. The ranking actually seems very good. I remember loving AXO and XO but got dropped immediately. I held onto KKG and loved them too but got dropped going into pref. Nothing against PM but it just felt a bit unwelcoming...or perhaps my own insecurity. I do think OP nailed it! I landed in a lower tier house and couldn't be happier although rush was full of surprises and some were quite crushing! Luckily my recruitment experience was great but do expect a roller coasrter of ups and downs as the week progresses. Good luck PNMs!

I'm from the west coast and this is pretty close to what I felt during rush. I ended up in a "lower tier" house but LOVED axo and xo and hated aopi during recruitment. When I was rushing tru delt and agd made no impression to me, but I know they're more popular with southern girls

I too am from OOS, loved AXO and XO. DDD and AGD left me feeling blah. I actually liked lower ranking houses more. I did like ADPi and Pi Phi in the mid tiers. Ended up preffing DG, GPB and AOPi! It worked out great in the end. I am a believer in "the system works". Love my house and now can't imagine being anywhere else. Truly any house is great!

I'm from OOS and I honestly didn't love the old row houses except for one because I loved the girl I talked to (we're still friends today). I just felt like I didn't fit in. I fell in love with DG & Aopi on philanthropy round and out of love with Aphi on philanthropy too.
My fave house at the time cut me on sisterhood (zeta) & I didn't have the gpa for ADPi but I landed in a lower tier house and I'm happy where I ended up

that doesn't surprise me. I did not know anyone coming into rush and ended up in a top house, but they left me sitting alone during philanthropy round for a few minutes. It made it very clear I wasn't wanted in their house

They know who they want and the rest are fillers. And they are treated as fillers after pledging.

It's essentially totally subjective, just like every other ranking on here. It's just based on what I personally saw/ heard during recruitment
