gpa limit

by: Sophomore

For sophomores rushing, is there a certain gpa that you actives think won't limit their options? Or a certain gpa where their options will start being more limited? And do you know if they care about major? Like is a 3.5 in engineering better than a 3.7 in an easier major? Any information would be awesome because Panhellenic doesn't give much info about sophomore rush!

Anything below a 3.0 will really limit your options, and anything above a 3.5 should be fine with pretty much any house. I honestly don't think they consider major that much because at the end of the day the gpa impacts the house's average. However, I also think a house is more impressed to hear that you are a difficult major instead of an easy one

Don't think they consider the major but they should. A 3.5 engineering major is incredible because of the difficulty compared to say communications. Unfortunately it is all about the numbers.

i really think that as long as you're above a 3.5 and involved you're 100% fine for every house in the GPA category. but i don't think they'll look at your major and be like oh she's engineering so well cut her slack- it doesn't work that way.

Do they look at semester GPAs for freshman year for sophomore PNMs? Like if someone had an iffy GPA first semester but did really well the second semester, would they recognize that the first semester might have just been from adjusting to college or something?

If that is your situation if it comes up naturally in conversation I would mention that that was what happened last year

Because I have transfer credits, my transcript shows UA GPA, transfer GPA, and overall GPA which combines the two. Will sororities consider UA GPA or the overall GPA?
