embellishing

by: Deee

Just curious, how many of you lied/embellished on resume.

I don't mean forging your transcript or lying about your test scores.

I mean did you say you were a constant member of a club for two years when you only went to two meetings? Or made your job seem more important than it is?

No judgments here people. I'm thinking of writing a paper about it, and I'm wondering if it's worth it depending on the numbers. And I think people are more likely to tell the truth if it's anonymous

I didn't lie on my resume but I lied during rush- as an active. Sometimes a conversation was going so horribly I would just make stuff up to pass the time

I think it would be cool to write a paper about what makes somebody want to troll greekrank

I think resumes are entirely a matter of figuring out how to take the true things you did and make them sound as impressive as possible. To me, making your job "seem more important than it is" is just making your skills sound useful, while saying you were an active member of a club you barely attended is a little different. I've definitely done the former but not the latter.
