how wealthy is 'sorority wealthy'?

It's not about wealth. It's about class. I really don't understand why people don't get that.

Every sorority girl from my home town is on academic scholarship or military benefit except 2 .. so they don't have to worry about tuition and some other expenses. Of course we don't know everyone's financial situation but even with that kind of aide I don't understand how those girls afford not to work and pay sorority dues. All sorority girls are not wealthy.

The richest in the southern state ends up in a top old row sorority, richest in oor ends up in top new row sorority like zta

Its weird here.In my sorority there are wealthy girls who have to pay their own dues and other girls who have to work a ton to afford dues.I do have a friend here who is in zta and they look rich online,but both of her parents have been out of work for 2 years.But she is pretty,smart and involved.They didn't check her finances.My sorority doesn't either.There are many girls who drop out because of money not because they don't have it but they don't want to waste in on sorority life.Old row is different-you have the southern debutantes and the birmingham families that really do care about money.

No one is checking anyone’s finances before rush, that is ridiculous. Anyone able to afford college and especially a sorority at Alabama, is very blessed. The fact that there is a thread regarding how wealthy is wealthy just illustrates how spoiled and out of touch everyone is.
