junior rushing
by: jwIf I'm transferring in as a Junior could I rush? Would I have any chance at a bid?

It's really not worth it as a junior. You're better off joining a service or academic / honor fraternity. You get social benefits (meet new friends), and it looks good on your resume. I rushed as a sophomore, and I'm a junior now. I'm already tired of it. If it weren't for the friendships I made in my pledge class of now sophomores, I would have deactivated. But to answer tot question, I'm sure there is a chance, but is that chance worth it?

I pledged last fall as ajunior. I transferred in as a sophomore and rushed around for a year. I found the fraternity that I thought I fit in with the best. They gave me a bid and I was so pumped. The day before pledge ship officially started they called me and kicked me out because they thought I was too old. Lowest move ever and I was absolutely crushed by it. Not saying it will happen to you but age plays a big factor just a warning. Never hurts to try.
