what's your favorite/least fav
by: prospective transfer?thing about Bama Greek life, and bama in general?
#2by: ..,
Greek life: The people. We're not all bad, but a good chunk of us = very insecure, self-centered, shallow, and mean-spirited. Anonymity shows people's true colors. Oh there's also a lot of drama.
Bama, the university? It's your typocal state school. Sports is a thing. Greek life is a little bit more inflated. It's mostly a lot of people who come from Alabama and want to stay close to home; some who got really great scholarships and chose this school over objectively better institutions because of the financial aid; other southerners/oos who are a mix of the first two descriptions; people who came for the sports; and the people who really only care about Greek life.
Bama the state is okay. I rather live in Atlanta, Georgia if I really wanted to stay in the south... You'll find that a lot of students here are never going to leave the state.

Greek life: very snobby, it's all about status. If you join a really good fraternity people will chase after you because they want to be known to hang out with that fraternity. If you don't join a good fraternity or off campus than people don't really associate with you. It's not really about you as a person here. It's more about the house you're in. I've never been a fan of that. Greek life is great and I do enjoy it but I didn't want to shell out $6,000 to be in a house on university so I chose off campus.
The school: its great, beautiful campus, great programs, and teachers are always willing to work with you. Sports is huge here and that's always great with how hyped up it is. I do enjoy that.
