what makes a house top

Top: Desired by students of the better Alabama High Schools (Mountain Brook and Mobile), girls who want to be with these kids (and the fraternities of similar guys they hang with), the houses these girls mothers were in, history and tradition, name recognition and the reputation of the girls in the houses

Mid: Houses that attract the better OOS girls, particularly non Southern OOS, less southern tradition, looks and attitude.

Bottom: The others. Who still have great girls!

Top houses take PNMs with really high GPAs (over a 3.5 and average around a 3.7), very involved in high school (athletics, leadership, volunteering), and who have good reputations. Because most of the top houses take mostly southern girls, it is easier for them to verify reputation of a pnm.

Middle houses take mostly the same criteria as top, maybe not quite as much focus on grades and involvement. Middle houses pull more OOS girls and those not even from the South.

I hate to call them bottom houses, because there really aren't any bad houses, but the rest of the sororities take grade risks (below a 3.0), they aren't as concerned with how involved you were in high school, and because they tend to draw girls from the north, Midwest and west, they don't know as much about the reputations of their PNMs and there can be some real surprises.

IMO seriously? You sound very conceited, but I'd like to know how sororities will have any idea about where pnm come from or their families background or wealth? You say rich girls went to school with rich boys... but no one else from my high school goes to bama. Lots of very qualified pnm come to bama not knowing anyone. I'm coming from the west coast and happen to come from a great family full of successful businessmen and politicians but you wouldn't know that. So will I be overlooked by your top houses?

Yes you will. Top houses are reserved largely for in-state girls. Their lists are already largely completed for next year's PNMs. You'll see. But not to worry! You'll find a house full of girls just like you. It's not known by the top tier....they think MB and Hoover are "rich" girls. LOL

What gets rated top houses revolves around connections in and around Alabama.

But let's be honest, made ranked OOS focused houses are full of wealthy and connected girls. They are more likely to be from Colorado, California, and the north And, in ranking sororities and fraternities this is less important

If tiers were based on what pnms really want, ZTA would be a top house. The old row vs new row thing is soo stupid.
