rush advice

by: Pnm

Say it's half way through recruitment week and the only houses you have left you just aren't as interested in or you just know you rather be in a different house but you want to be ion a sorority. Does it make more sense to stick it out and hope it works for you or should you drop and do COB? What would be the best way to go about this

Honestly I'd say to just finish the week, accept the bid, and see how your pledgeship goes. Not gonna lie, a lot of girls don't end up with their first choice and a lot of girls end up in houses they weren't absolutely in love with. But with time they see that, despite how cliche it sounds, everything happens for a reason. The girls who didn't end up in their first choice house manage to still be as happy, and sometimes happier, than girls who ended up with their first choice. Overall, sorority life is about what you make of it. If you're putting in effort to get to know your sisters and have fun, regardless of whether they were your top house or not, you'll be happy. Pledgeship is great for dipping your toe in and seeing how you like it, and if you don't like it you can always drop before imitation and do Spring rush or rush the following Fall.

Actually, once you accept a bid you have to wait a calender year for another bid if you drop.

Stick with the process. Most houses prefer freshmen women. Not all do COB. Trust and confide in your recruitment counselor, she's an invaluable recruitment resource. If after you visit your pref houses you still do not wish to sign a bid card because you truly do not feel those homes are right for you, drop.
