rush gpa
by: Incoming Freshmen
I've always done well in my classes and have taken a few honors/one AP Course. My school grades us on a 100 scale, so my overall GPA is about an 88(converted to about a 3.3) unweighted my school doesn't weight. With this year as a senior I got very sick in the beginning of the year so my grades stuggled, but I was able to pull them all up about 10+ points with the exception of math. Math I stuggled because it wasn't like other classes where I could just jump back into learning new things from being absent because it continued from the base of the first marking period. I had a 74 first, 69 second, and currently in the third with a 67. There is barley time this marking period to bring it up and I calculated for me to pass (if it stays at the 67) I'd need an 80 for the fourth marking period to pass with a 70 all year. All my other grades are well and I have AP GOV, Honors English, Honors Physics w/Lab, and Anatomy. I have an excellent resume, leadership positions in various clubs, and was an athlete. I heard rec letter can play an important role in this and I'm able to get rec letters from Phi Mu, Pi Phi, Delta Kappa, and Tri Delt.
So my main question is, will a sorority see everything and then discard me because of my ONE Math Class throughout my high entire high school career?

Yo.... Bruh.... Chill tf out. I'm going to be brutally honesty rn bc that's what it seems like you need.
- First of all, Delta Kappa? Do you mean Kappa Delta? Hun, please get the names straight.
- Sororities will not see a breakdown of your grades whatsoever. All the see is your GPA and you will not have the opportunity to vouch for yourself and whatever "sickness" you endured. They will not see classes, semesters/quarters, or years, so your current 3.3 is all they will know about you.
- A 3.3 isn't the worst GPA. There are ample girls who go through rush with lower GPAs.
- Are the four sororities you listed the only ones you're interested in? I suggest getting two recs for every house here.
- If you're a well rounded PNM then any house will want you. In your case, your grades aren't the worst but they're not the best, pretty average, but you say you make up for it with your extracurricular involvement which is good. Are you pretty and wealthy too? Can you keep a good conversation without exploding from stress, because your whole post is filled with anxiety.
- There are lots of things that get factored into whether or not a sorority will give you a bid. Your grades are average so theres really nothing to worry about.

Thank you so much! Someone was telling me you should have a 3.5 so that's why I was just nervous plus the fact that my math grade is low. It's a relief to hear that it's just my gap that is shown. Honestly I don't have an interest in any specific sorority, I am going to keep an open mind, those are just the soroities I can get recs from as of now. I don't know many people in Greek life so that's my problem with trying to rec letters.
