should i start contacting fraternities?

I'd wait until you're fully committed before you contact the fraternities. I mean they have so many people coming through as it is that it would just look bad on your part if you said you're coming here and then end up not. I'd assume you're going to commit sometime soon within the next month or two, as most seniors do, and since that isn't too far off I'd just say wait. By the time you commit, there will still be Spring/Summer rush parties as well as formal rush, so you still have a lot of time. Until then, look into the frats here, see which ones peak your interest, and start gathering contact info so by the time you do commit you can just send everything quickly. Good luck!
