by: PNMDo houses like zeta drop because of looks only? Like I get how they have pretty girls but will I get dropped bc im average and not like a model or do they really care about personally? Like if I fit into pi phi but not their type of pretty will I get dropped? I know this sounds kinda stupid but I'm afraid I'll get dropped bc of my looks

Agree with post 1 make up and bleach don't make you pretty phi mu and alpha phi prettier imo

I'm sure there there are exceptions but I would give you a tentative yes. Obviously they are entitled to cut whomever they want but freshman year all four girls who lived in my suite had above 4.0 gpas and we were all cut by alpha phi and zeta first round. Did they know we wouldn't be a good fit? Maybe, but we all wondered why they didn't even try to recruit four girls with 4.0s past the first round

Honestly I doubt they were cut because of looks. Those sororities probably noticed their high GPA's and knew those girls would pick houses that were known for having higher GPA's so they didn't want to waste a spot on them when they knew those girls were more than likely not going to pick them. That's just my perspective though. Maybe their personalities didn't click or like you said maybe they didn't fit the "good looks" criteria!

That's what I think probably happened but either way it's very unusual for houses to cut 4.0s so early, like they might at least try

I know that many sororities already have their eyes on who they want. Sororities know who will be rushing before you even step on campus. Grades matter but are not everything to some sororitities. Sisterhood is important as you will be living and breathing the same air for 4 yrs. Looks is also something they do look at....you just have to fit in.
This isn't any different from getting a job, people hire you cause they like you and you fit it.....

I completely agree with SororityUA
Most if not all sororities already know you are coming and have inquired about you.
They have looked at your resume and even though GPA matters to some, GPA does not matter to all. After all you are in college and probably have at least a 3.5
So they start to focus on what you did in HS (cheer, dance, twirling, clubs, etc) and what type of person you are. Looks matters for some sororities and ZETA is one of them. Many girls even go to trainings on how to get into the sorority of their choice, competition for the best sororities in BAMA is fierce.
Be happy with any house that picks you, and know you were selected out of 2000 girls.

And don't go to training, if you don't belong now you won't after being trained.

Now, we have to be honest. ZTA does have a lot of pretty girls. As I went through recruitment several of us in my group of 5 wanted to get picked up by ZTA and only one got picked up. This girl was very very sweet and pretty as heck. So I do think that looks does help.
