politics?
by: coolcoolcoolI'm really just curious, are there sororities at bama known for being more liberal and some known for being more conservative? obviously the school + the greek community + the state is quite conservative but where do sororities fall on the relative spectrum?

The majority of girls in EVERY sorority here will lean more conservative. And thank God for that. Obviously, yes there are liberals in every house but usually it's a pretty small amount and they're usually pretty quiet. I've noticed that DG, GPHI, APHI, and AOPI tend to take in more liberals than most other sororities. Obviously though most sororities don't know your political beliefs when you rush.

To the girl who said these "stereotypes" don't work... I obviously stated that there's a mix of girls holding different political ideologies in every house. You're a conservative? Cool. So am I. So is the majority of the student body. All I did was give an example of a few houses that tend to have more liberals, or at least from my observations. Chill out babe.

Overall, all the houses are going to skew conservative, because that's who joins sororities.
But every group is going to have a mix. Most will be majority conservative. If you go from conservative freshman to flaming liberal senior, you're probably going to resign the sorority by the time you're a junior.

True. I just figured since people here talk so often about the geographic and socioeconomic makeup of different chapters here, learning the political leanings would be interesting too.
