bama greek life pros
by: Potentional New MemberWhat does Alabama Greek Life have that most other schools don't? Example: the multi million dollar mansions and I've heard something about game day dates? Really I'm just wondering about activities or certain things UA has that's really cool that others don't!

Pros:
- Amazing houses
- Game day dates (fraternity men will ask girls to be their dates on game days)
- Block seating (fraternities have the student section right behind the end zone and it's reserved for them and their dates)
- Regular appearances from mainstream rappers at fraternity parties
- Bragging rights: being able to say you're apart of the largest Greek life in the nation, being able to say you live in a ten million dollar house
- Greeks are treated better on campus

All found on pretty much any other campus with a strong Greek life with houses.
We just do it bigger!

Greeks organizations hold a lot of secret power on campus, more so than any other college (obviously excluding the very elite universities in America). Basically every Greek organization that has a house on campus gets priority to a lot things on campus as opposed to GDIs and other non-Greek organizations. Also the Machine is notorious and the power it holds on campus in favor of those apart of it is unmatchable. Also i feel like there's a stigma towards GDIs on campus. Not everyone that's Greek is snobby about associating with GDI's but I must say that there is a good amount of people who look down at GDIs and won't associate with them unless it's necessary. Overall if you're able to go Greek (make the financial and time commitments) you're better off joining a fraternity/sorority than not.

That response did answer your question.... the power Greeks have on campus is unique and not a lot of other colleges have such a strong Greek influence on not just Greek affairs, not just campus wide affairs, but also state government.

Men and women who do not participate in Greek life. It's a term used at all colleges and universities across the nation.
