your new row house did not decline an old row invi
by: Good Lord
Sweet friends. Old Row existed LONG BEFORE Budweiser put their logo on the tshirts. Old Row has been around since the 50s/60s. Budweiser slapped their logo on the shirts in the 80s.
Just let it go with the "my house was invited to Old Row and turned it down." It's not true and it makes you and your entire sorority look desperately jealous of the houses that are Old Row.
Be New Row and be proud!

The term "Old Row" originated from the FRATERNITIES. It was the frat houses on University Blvd that began "Old Row." KA, DKE, SAE, PGD, SN, PDT. They created Old Row because they were on the original "fraternity row" aka "The Old Row" before frats started building houses down Jefferson.
Since there were six of them, they decided to ask six sororities to join them in their little Old Row group. They picked the top six houses at that time (and still today, tbh): AXO, XO, DDD, AGD, DDD and KD. Old Row has nothing to do with the order in which sororities came on campus, only the fraternities. Do you get it now??
Phi Mu was invited to join in the early 90s by the Machine as an "I'm sorry we beat up your sister Mindy Riley when she tried to run against the Machine candidate for SGA president" in 1992. Read the Machine's wikipedia page for more info.
So Old Row refers to the frats on Old Row. Sororities were invited to join based on which were the six best. Old Row for sororities has nothing to do with the order in which they came to campus.
