the process

Do sororities not base their decisions of girls off of conversations or actually meeting the girls during recruitment at all? Reading things on here make it seem like if you don't have a high GPA, drop dead gorgeous, and extremely involved then forget about it lol like sure all the sororities probably do a lot of their deciding before even meeting PNM's but is it possible for things to turn around when they actually meet you? Just trying to understand the process!

Chapters will begin liking you from your resume and if they know of you... BUT they will get to know you during rush parties. That's the most important decision time. Face to face connections are everything

You'll do just fine. I decided to attend UA just before May 1st and rushed sort of last minute. I'm from the north and dos just fine! I'm sure you will too! Good luck!

Do sororities at Alabama pre rank PNM's? My friend who rushed at another big university said they pre rank girls and decide in advance who is a highly sought after PNM. Most pre ranking was done by where you grew up, grades, looks and whether you compete in pageants. Any info you could give on this process is helpful.

There is a bit of pre-ranking that goes on at each house, even if it is just "who you'll talk too". For example, if Betty, Sally and Molly are all from your (PNM) area. Betty is a director of something, Sally is a 3 time legacy, and Molly is just a normal member (nothing wrong with that). If you are ranked "higher" in our pre ranking, you'll probably talk to Betty over Molly.

However, some houses do it different. Meaning different rooms or places in rooms they take you in rush mean different things. Each house has their own way.

Would it hurt you if you're the one talking to Molly? And what if Molly only has good things to say about you... does that not really matter sense her position in the house isn't as high as others?

Early round meetings are brief.

At the most competitive houses It can be tough (not impossible) to get noticed, recognized and placed on the call back list.

Letters of recommendation help.

Great PNMs (looks, grades, wealth, style) will find a top house in any event, but they may not get selected by all the houses they may like - particullarly in the early rounds - if the ground work isnt done.
