tiers matter?
by: Roll tideMany people on here say that ranks and tiers don't actually matter but don't they kind of matter when it comes to mixers and swaps with fraternities? Or do all fraternities and sororities randomly mix around with each other?
#3by: Of course
#5by: No
There is definitely NOT an all frats with all sororitys mixing
If you are from Alabama, Mountain Brook, parts of Mobile, and perhaps form select areas in nearby states and you want to be with all your high school friends, or who you wish were your high school friends - then this is all VERY important.
If you came here from oos, don't know anyone here, and are looking for similar friends then this is much LESS relevant.
#6by: it depends
To get back to the original question... Tiers only matter if the height of your ambition is to stay in small town Alabama for your entire life. If you want to play bridge in a certain group or have playdates for your children with certain families, it might matter.
For most of us it doesn't matter at all. I grew up in MB and I can't wait to move away. I'm in a so called top house but I realize now they're not considered very good nationally -- especially not in Cali where I want to go after graduation for a job in the film industry. I wish I'd thought of that when I was a freshman because it sure would be nice to have some contacts out there.
I'm a senior and can tell you for positive that there are just as many great girls in every house. Some houses are different -- like mine has a lot of southern girls and some have more out of state girls Does that matter? Not one bit. They're all quality girls and you can find friends in any house (unless you're the one with the weird personality ha ha!)
