by: FreshmanI'm going to go through rush in the fall and I want to be as prepared as possible. Which houses are the hardest to get into ? I know that grades, reputation, looks, and connections play a large role. I'm getting my letters of rec together now but just wanted an idea of what to expect regarding cuts, etc. is one house harder than all the rest? Thanks

It depends what you consider being hard. On looks, yes some houses recruit heavily based on your look. If you're talking about where you're coming from and who you know, again yes other houses it matters for. Either way all houses here are competitvely rushing girls, and no house is 'easy' to get into.

Everyone finds a house with rare exception. So not all houses are competitive. Some houses absolutely cut more girls than others because they have more interest and more girls select them than they can move to the next round.
And not girls get full cards at each round.
Some houses focus on grades, some local or southern connections, some looks and some money.
But I do not get the need for yet another thread on this topic. There are only a thousand ranks and comments to reference. If you read them, you can figure it out.
And in general, at the end, if you keep an open mind and allow the process to work, nearly everyone has a house

Agree, the hardest house to get into depends on who you are or are not.....
So if you don't have good grades, the hardest houses to get into are AXO, XO and DDD
Aren't from Mountain Brook, and not already on their list, the hardest is KD
Aren't good looking, the hardest to get in are Phi Mu, ZTA and APhi
Aren't a Southern Christian girl, you may not fit at AGD, XO and AXO
Aren't a wealthy party girl, then KKG is going to be a stretch.
I don't intend this to be mean and It is not inclusive of all houses.
Just noting that houses recruit certain types of girls.
Find the house where YOU fit and don't worry about ranks.
You will be fine.
