Not hard at all. Im from California and i know about 30 other girls from California/Nevada. Some sororities look for girls that are from the south, but where you live will not affect you getting a bid.d

You'll be fine, with certain sororities such as KD, Kappa, Tri Delt, and Chi O you will definitely be surrounded by more southern girls than not, however it will not stop you from getting in as long as you fit the other qualification they are looking for, just make yourself stand out during rush

With rare exceptions everyone gets a bid.

All the hysteria comes from girls wanting in the house they most desire, especially for the houses where there are many more girls with such desires than openings.

The most competitive houses are Alabama and nearby southern state focused, where girls already have friends, family, and/or a strongly held belief that these houses include the girls they "must" be around

Being from California, if you click with these houses - great. It's a misconception that they exclude OOS.

However, If you don't, you likely won't "feel the pressure" of having to "get in".
