by: Being For RealI mean this with all the respect in the world, I'm a legacy, and without bashing could people tell me a true representation of Delta Gamma''s reputation on campus and their personality at a house, please don't be too harsh. I'm going to be a PNM and I'm just curious.

I like DG very much. Be careful of the "higher tier" houses, the sisterhood weakens, it becomes less fun and depending on where you come from, you may not fit in or get a bid. Be happy with DG and let me warn you...it's not your choice. The houses select their pledges. I went to Bama hoping to get in my mom's house and was dropped! It's not easy but it all worked out great.

DG is not considered one of the "top tier" houses, but it definitely has one of the best sisterhoods. All of the DGs that I have met seem to get along and be very involved outside of just their house. They are really kind and wholesome girls, but not big partiers if that's what you're into.

I'm a DG here. My opinion may be biased but I can promise you that just because we aren't top tier doesn't mean anything. When I went through rush I listened to others opinions on DG and almost didn't go through with them, but i felt that their sisterhood was genuine and thats what I wanted. And that's what I got. The mix of different girls and personalities makes it easy to find friends.

The DG I room with is a pain...... Trust me, I have tried!
My observation of her and her friends is that they do stick together but are kind of insecure.
They self promote and if it's just me around, they like to let me know how "great they are", all the things they do, what they wear, to the point of being annoying. When they are in that mode, you can't get a word in, and their stories are really not that special.
But, get them around a larger group, and they just cling together, fade to the background and don't engage with anyone else.
They probably find it fun - they have their group. But, not my thing.

It's not your thing when you can't share their common ground of sisterhood. It happens.
I would bet it's not intentional. Most sorority women are proud of their Chapters. People perceive it as snobby, when it's pride in something bigger that they belong to and love. Like Bama.
