if you rush a sorority freshman year, are you automatically in in until senior year, unless you get kicked out of course

No you gotta get a bid and get hazed and then you get initiated later in the semester. Then you're in for life unless you drop or get kicked out

The real deal (if you are real person asking the question): You rush, hopefully receive a bid, accept the bid. Pay fees. Learn about your sorority during the new member period and attend all kinds of events to spend time getting to know your sisters. Get initiated in late Fall. Then you are in for life... as long as you continue to be a "member in good standing" (which takes some work but that's why you joined).
