dke nationally to soon no longer exist
by: Greek GuruDKE may be on its last legs nationally with far more closed than open chapters. Sources say they are in negotiations with Lambda Chi Alpha, and Sigma Phi Epsilon to be absorbed by either of those two much stronger fraternities. DKE being upper middle tier to top tier at UA is about the only chapter of DKE that is not considered bottom tier if not the bottom at all their chapters. If DKE folds which letters would the UA chapter rather replace their letters with when the DKE letters come down?

Actually the question should since DKE has so many bottom tier houses and just a handful of middle tier or higher will Sig E or for that matter Lambda Chi who are both among the strongest nationally have a say in accepting the goobers that it seems most DKE members are?.

Perhaps they will soon follow in DKE footsteps. I wonder if the UA Sig Ep chapter would have a say if they wanted the current DKE members in their fraternity?. Would they each need to apply are be voted on?

I don't think Lambda Chi or Sig Ep want to be tarnished with the "Old Row" tag which is really just a tag of shame and ridicule.

@Troll, I think reading comprehension is not. your strong suit. I stated "many" not all fraternities. It is many fraternities. I do give you props for making me laugh on what experience I have, but I am not going to defend myself on what real world experience I have. I think many people appreciated my comments and the insight I have at a different level of the Fraternal World.
I also never stated I believed some rumor about DKE, in fact I think it is BS. The whole point of my original comment is what is happening at the national levels across the fraternal world.

Actually many fraternities have a history of merging with other fraternities. I don't know if there are recent cases. But you are right DKE is like a local fraternity at UA with only a few chapters that are are in the middle or upper tier most being bottom tier and that is why they will soon no longer exist.
