by: TSI've heard from a few people that because thetas in debt and their nationals doesn't do anything to help them, the university might get their charter pulled. Also heard that it's going to happen within the next 2 years if theta doesn't start building quick because both sigma kappa and trisig want to colonize on campus and both nationals have offered up the money to build houses with the standard of the other new large mansions on the row, without debt.

This is a bunch of urban rumors and plain, flat-out lies. The poeple passing this on have no clue has to how this the housing and building works.
Theta isn't going anywhere. They will build their house in due time. The bulk of the loan money comes from the university.
OF COURSE there is fund-raising going on - you want to do that so you have to borrow the least amount you have to. OF COURSE you are still paying off your loans from your most recent expensive renovation, but when it comes time to build, all that will be refinanced.
How about you worry about paying off the loans on your own house. Don't you have a class to go to or something?

Sigma Sigma Sigma is a NPC sorority. They are colonizing at Auburn this fall...and a friend of mine who goes to Auburn is hoping to join the colony class so I hope everything goes well for her and the colony. :)

There's a post at 13 that hit home for me. I agree whole heartedly. Let's hope Theta stays and may they develop an even greater presence on this campus. I'm against all the bashing...particularly the lower tier sororities who have to defend their position every day. It's just not fair to the girls who have committed. Aren't they entitled to decency and respect and a little fun and pride? I too am not a theta! Let's just stop and think about these girls and their parents paying their dues and cut them a break! Go Theta!

You've heard wrong about all of this, so stop listening to the person who told you this. Yah, Theta needs a new house, they will have one in a few years. They aren't going anywhere not while the number of pnms goes up every year. Also those other sororities don't want the expense of coming to UA, the school will have to offer them a good deal.
