by: pnmI may want to drop out of recruitment for financial reasons, but I'm worried I won't have as good of a social life if I do. Would I still be invited to date parties and formals? I've made a lot of friends throughout recruitment so I'll have several friends who are actives. Will fraternity guys still associate with me even if I am not in a sorority?

If you are unsure if you can keep the financial commitments a sorority requires, withdraw TODAY.
It's cruel for you to take a bid from another girl who can afford it, since I'd give you about a 90% chance of dropping before initiation based on your comments.
Way less than half of the student body is Greek. Yes, you can and will have a social life ourside the Greek system.

You may get asked to fraternity date parties, but non members cannot attend sorority date parties. Most of your Greek friends will be busy with Greek life and you will be left out. You will need to cultivate non Greek friends and find your niche outside of Greek life. This can be done. You should not stay in if it is too expensive for you.
