xo vs axo
by: Confused pnmEveryone puts these two together but they seem very different to me. XO seems a bit more well rounded and chill. I've liked the AXo girls too but they seem a little more intense. What's the difference? Also love Kappa but Kd seems weird. Did I get the wrong vibe? A lot to ask but this is soooo hard

This is why rankings are such bs. People can come out here and say "XYZ house only takes girls who were born on a Thursday" and people will start to believe it if it's said often enough, even if girls born on Wednesdays feel right at home. You have to listen to the voice inside your head when it comes to houses, because there are such little nuances you can't write here about why you feel more comfortable in house A over house B. If you like Chi O over AXO or Kappa over KD, then that's how you should rank them! Those are the only rankings that matter at the end of the day.

You got it, in a nutshell. AXO and Phi Mu used to be tip top because they had looks, involvement and always the highest grades, but since 2014 or so Phi Mu's grades have been slipping, so they' et dropped a bit and AXO has stayed the same at the top. But a lot of the older girls are still very much A+.
XO has always been more of a loose cannon than AXO though. They've always been more hipster, "cool," and chill. Also pretty outdoorsy. Kappa's also known for being laid back and chill as well, so these are where you see similarities. But if you recall, XO was a little too cavalier in 2014/2015 and had some race scandals, got put on probation, and nationals came down hard and made them bid a more "boring" PC 15. Probably why you see them ranked a little lower than Kappa. XO also cares a lot more for grades.
KD and Pi Phi aren't the prettiest, but they're super social. I'd say the comparison is pretty apt. They party hardy but do a good job of not getting too out of hand. They do it mostly in private and have other positive aspects so people don't concentrate on the partying so much. KD with their wealth and social connections, Pi Phi with their grades.

This is a good explanation. I've been wondering the same thing. A guy told me to think of chi o as the middle between axo and kappa. Chi o will have super smart axo girls and some partiers like kappa.
Chi o and kappa are a tough choice for me ( assuming they both ask me back!). I also really like zeta!!

Spot on. What this says is what is happening over past year. XO and Kappa similar. Zeta becoming part of the conversation and Pi Phi being strong and balanced.

In a sorority of ~400 girls, some girls are going to be similar to stereotypical Kappas, or stereotypical AXO's, or whomever. It depends who you talk to!
