I wasn't going to say anything but I just can't help myself. I just want to let you guys know that pnms are real people with real feelings. I got dropped from my legacy house and I don't know how I'm going to tell my mom this without breaking her heart and just pure embarrassment. I know I am slow to warm up to people but I'm a good woman and I would have been a good sister.

It is definitely their loss. Your mom will understand and more than likely, the sorority hated to cut you but it's a numbers game. Everyone is pulling for their hometown girls. It feels personal but I promise it isn't. Actives cry more during this process than you can imagine. Hoping you have some wonderful options.

Your mom will understand!
It happened to me too. They both will miss out on some great pledges!
Peace

I'm sorry you got hurt in this process. Cutting legacies is never fun and is always a difficult decision. The reality is that many houses have so many legacies going through that most or all of the pledge class would be legacies if every legacy got a bid. If your mom has been an involved alumna, she was probably aware of your chances going into rush at Bama.

Also, the chapter should have called her so that you are not the one to tell her. That's what my house does when we cut legacies out of repsect to the alumna.

Take time to hurt and process this today but I hope you will keep an open mind to joining the other houses whose parties you attend this round. One day you will be glad your legacy cut you early enough that you still had other options and time to get to know the other houses better.

Good luck!

Take it from a mom - you do NOT need to be embarrassed! Your mom loves you for who you are and knows your worth. The sororities do not determine that. You do. Hold your chin high and realize whoever dropped you probably wasn't the one for you. You'll find a home. Just be patient.

::hugs::

This happens a lot here! I know like 10 girls from last year this happened to! It is awful right now, but you will find the right house for you. Don't be ashamed!
