This was probably the biggest release amount.

If you've maximized your options and go to prefer you have good odds of getting a bid.

If you're invited to pref and you list every house you attend on your pref card that night, you will get a bid to one of your pref houses. If you are only invited to one pref party and you list that house on your pref card, you are guaranteed a bid.

if you only go to one party you definitely get a bid there if you list it?

What if you're further down on their list?

what if you go to 2 parties but only want to list 1 because you just don't feel comfortable at the other house? everybody here said to stick with it and I did but i know that house isn't right for me.

@ 1 pref party,- yes if you are only invited to 1 pref party, and you list it on your pref card, you will have maximized your options (by listing every sorority you attended for pref) and you are guarenteed a bid from that house. If you are lower down on their list, and they reach quota before they get to your name, you will be added to that house's PC as s quota addition to reward you for maximizing your options.

@wait- yes, even if you go to 2 or 3 houses, technically you are allowed to only list one, but I would highly recommend that you list then all. If you "suicide" and only list 1 (if you have 2) or 2 houses (if you have 3), you are NOT eligible for quota additions, and you might end up bid less if you aren't high enough ion your preferred groups' lists. Keep in mind that this is likely your best/only chance to join a sorority at Bama, and you can make life long best friends in any house. Keep an open mind during pref and look around at the other PNMs at your prefs. Those are the girls you'll be spending the most time with anyway. Ahd remember, ALL of out house are amazing, and you'll find girls you live in any and all of them. Good luck!

If you have only one pref party, you will get a bid no matter where you are on their bid list. You'll either match as part of quota or a quota addition; either way, you're guaranteed a bid.

Have fun today!!

If you have 2 parties and list only 1 on your pref card, it's called "suicide". If your #1 house's bid list fills before your name comes up, you will not be eligible to be a quota addition or a snap bid (should any house not make quota). There is no way to know where you are on #1's bid list (unless you're a legacy) so just know if you decide to only list one house, you are taking a big risk.

Just remember that NOW is your best chance to go Greek. Many houses have a "once cut, always cut" rule that can make re-rushing as a sophomore really difficult. Also, COB is kind of like a unicorn- bids are given out to close friends but it's done so discreetly that you don't ever hear about it.

And for old row the first lost is a ton of legacies cause they have to be on first list if get to pref. So prepare to fall to 2 or 3 if you are not legacy and have an old row as your 1.

Yes, if list every house you were invited to at pref, you'll get one of those houses. No guarantee which one because that depends on where you are on the lists submitted by the sororities.

I thought first round was biggest release so if you only have 2 leftand they are considered higher tier are they likely to cut you if you didn't embarrass yourself at their party

You will match one of those two no matter what.

If those two invite you back to preference and you list them both on your bid card then yes you will get a bid for one of them. But they have to invite you to preference and there are still cuts made between sisterhood and preference rounds if that's what you're asking.
