He doesn't support Greek life at all. It will end up hurting the school. Big donors who were Greek will not support him. My Granddad is going to redirect his donations. Instead of a general donation he will have an endowed scholarship for sons and daughters of his Fraternity and my Grandmothers sorority

Yes he does.... His daughter was an alpha chi at Alabama a few years ago. He supports the Greek community, but he has to take big measures to make sure they remain as great as they are with the amount of growth that Alabama is seeing.

I agree with him not supporting Greek life 100%. I am in Greek life and I think it's too big here. We need to 1) limit the # of girls that can sign up for rush. 2) take money out of Greek life that the school gives out for houses (I know houses pay for their houses) 3) not make Greek life the main attraction to our school. I love the school and the classes that I take and academics at this school are great but Greek life is way too big here and it'd be nice to make it more exclusive. Everyone here seems to be Greek.

Also, Greek life should not hurt the school. The fact that him not supporting Greek life hurts the school is a bad thing by itself. We should not be known for Greek life.

We just cannot limit the amount of girls who sign up for rush, I don't know how you think that would work. Yes, our sororities are too big. But the reason they are is because they keep admitting more freshmen. The freshmen class is almost 2k students bigger than it was two years ago. Until bama becomes more selective (which it won't) and admits less students (which it won't) our Greek system will stay massive. I'm not even going to go into how I feel about Panhellenic and this situation.

As big as it is, it is still only 30%. The vast majority are not Greek.

27% greek. That is closer to 1/4 of the student body and not 1/3.

Wonder if the administration not being big Greek fans means they won't push panhel to up the house quotas. Is this why there are so many cuts?
