No you idiot. This is a web page on Greek stuff. You should see my posts on bamahasbrainstoo.com. Nobody there mentions Greek life stuff,,, and it's okay. There is a time and place.

Now I see why posts on here saying to be humble and seek the right "fit" is good advice. I just hope I fit somewhere. How many get cut? Like ten percent? I am depressed now.

If you can't hang there is always chess club. They swap with the off campus frats I hear.

Do no worry, you will be fine! Maximize your options during rush. Always go back to as many houses as you have on your card. Enjoy those houses and don't worry about tiers. Do this and you will have a great rush and find a fabulous house. All the sororities here have fun! Good luck

Ok, let's get off the freak out train. It is hard for us to really give you advice since we can't see your resume or meet you in person. But here are some thoughts:
1. Being naturally pretty is not as important as being put together. Even the top houses have plenty of average looking girls that do A LOT with what they have. Look closely and you will see they are far from beauty queens but they are incredibly well put together. Do a great job with your make up. If you are missing these skills enlist some help from someone who has them ( you can even offer to pay them, and ask around many freelance as makeup artists. Bring touch up tools such as botting papers, lipstick, a mirror.
2. Do a great job with your hair in a style that will go the distance
3. Smile. A lot
4. Not too late to re evaluate your wardrobe choices. If you can, go buy a few really cute things. Make sure they are flattering and I tend to remember PMNs in a solid color with accessories that pop. Like a turquoise dress with a pink tassel necklace. Fit and flair is universally flattering and comfortable
5. Truth is, I am about a 7 (on a good day). I know this. Very self aware. I also do a lot with what I have. Understanding the tier system helped me (which is why I hate people saying to ignore it completely.). I dropped a couple of houses immediately that I knew would invite me back, maybe even all the way to Prefs, but would not offer me a bid. I just didn't bother with them.

Continued, The above could be bad advice if you are an 8-9 and just freaking out. My strategy worked. I am a recent alum of an upper middle house (maybe even lower upper). Of course that really doesn't matter, what matters is the love I have for my sisters.
Within the tiers the houses are interchangeable. It is truly a matter of opinion. But middle tier would be the top top at many schools. The Greek system is that strong.
And AXO is the best for all of the right reasons. I could not bring myself to drop them, but I appreciated them dropping me quickly so I could focus on the houses I had a chance at pledging.
Give it some honest thought, be strategic, maximize your options and have the time of your life!
