by: TRUTH HURTSNow that almost all the TOP TIER sororities are on NEW ROW, where in ranking do the OLD ROW houses fit?. Is ΑΧΩ the top of the middle tier now or lower? They seem to be the ONLY sorority that could even claim a middle spot. With the new measurements of upper tier being, attractiveness, sophistication, culture, worldliness, intelligence, wealth, fashion,the OLD ROW fails miserably by these measurements. Are there any other houses on OLD ROW that could even claim middle tier or do they belong on the BOTTOM?

ΑΧΩ has not been top tier for a long time, all their placements at the top are from self ranking. I can think of at lease 6-8 houses on new row that would put those girls to shame and ΑΧΩ is supposed to be the best Old Row has to offer??? Whats truely sad is the "Old Row" sororities continue to not be able to face reality and the SHAME that comes with the "Old Row tags, I think the sororities on Old Row should abandon their affiliation with the Old Row tag because it is no longer a prestigious label, rather it is a label of SHAME and RIDICULE.

While most of the OLD ROW sororities are considered middle tier at best, it seems the Alabama centric sororities are falling further behind and they exclusively make up the bottom of the bottom tier.
When will they open their eyes and finally see the "stigma" of being associated with "Old Row" and the SHAME and RIDICULE the "Old Row" tag brings. I know they are already derisively called the Old Crows.

This is true the hottest girls are in the New Row sororities. I would encourage Old Row sororities to stop identifying themselselves with the "Old Row" tag because that tag is no longer prestigious but rather shameful and embarrassing.
As a native Alabaman I can't help but notice the OOS are much more attractive, sofisticated, cultured than any of the girls from Alabama, it is really embarassing how the girls we thought were "hot" in high school and unfortunately think they still are especially in "old Row" by comparison to OOS are like comparing "Beauty" to the "Beast"

Got to agree the top sororities with the hottest girl are on New Row. Old row tag for sororities is no longer "prestigious" in fact I will say other posters are right it is shameful.

Well bless your heart I know it's hard for you to accept the widely held fact that the top sororities are on New Row and Old Row are falling futher and further behind New Row but I must say I am impressed with your determination to stick with the myth that old row is still relevant. I would think it was similar to the folks who were sure the earth was flat and just couldn't let go of the fact that it was proven the world was round. Well bless your heart for your tenacity in your belief but you really look foolish posting that nonsense.

@Tile so you ADMIT New Row is ABOVE Old Row now since you just said Old Row WAS on top until OOS came and brought the NEW ROW sororities ABOVE the Old Row. But your saying Old Row will be back once all the Scholarships for OOS disappear So I guess you are ADMITTING that the best Alabama has to offer in Old Rotw just can't compete with New Row OOS and the elite Alabamans that already see the SHAME of being tagged Old Row?.

I recently read that only about 34% of the student body is from in state. And only like 2-3% are foreign. So almost 2/3 of the student body is OOS. So New Row has 2/3 of the student body, as well as the more sophisticated locals, to choose from. Whereas Old Row who thinks it is prestigious to be from Alabama has only about 1/3 of the student body to choose from.
And what does it say if someone goes to a good university and just wants to hang out with the goobers they went to high school with? So what it all adds up to is increasing prominence of New Row, and decreasing prominence of Old Row.

It is funny how these "Old Row" moms are creating new posts about "fluff" so this post this hidden. I think all prospective freshman need to know the Shame that the "Old Row" tag brings and the fact that all the top tier sororities are now in the NEW ROW, so lets keep this at the top!

I don't think anybody on old row houses feel or appreciate shame. It is what they want and hey are good. I agree that many new row are now top tier and some of row don't have much to offer an oos new member that wants to really build relationships
