Rituals, regardless of whether you think they are silly & outdated, are still very special to the Greek community. Please, have some respect for your fellow Greeks in general and do not reveal their secrets, even if a member decides to reveal it to you. In a society where exclusivity and secrecy are scrutinized, people outside of the Greek community love to get their hands on ritual secrets and alter their meaning and purpose in a way that negatively impacts the entire Greek community across the country. The meaning may be lost on a lot of y'all, but ritual is what keeps each chapter unique and also ensures some sense of unity, no matter where that chapter is located. You can meet an abc from so and so college, not know her at all, and still have a cool bond through your rituals and secrets. Women and men throughout the years have created these things to supply important meanings and instill values they found key to their organization, do not be so petty as to broadcast it on a website like this. Be supportive of your fellow Greeks and respect their tradition, as you would have them respect yours.
