letters of recs
by: PNMWhat happens if I can't get recs for every house? Am I supposed to send in the generic one from a teacher with my registration? Does it matter if you don't have them for every house? Thanks

You can find them for ALL houses, you just aren't looking hard enough. You need to contact sorority alumni orgs in your hometown or the closest hometown and ask them now. Your local alumnae panhel can help too. If you know a woman involved in her own alum org, chances are she knows alums in other orgs, especially if she's super connected.
A generic form is the lazy way out, you have a few months, pound the pavement, sorority alums are everywhere and with google and a few hours you should be able to find some who can help you.... just make sure to ask nicely.

When nearly 3,000 people are going through the process, women will only get to meet a fraction. They will be voting during their membership selection based on the resume qualities, and what their friends and alums have to say about a member. THE EASIEST WAY TO GET CUT FROM AN OLD ROW OR FIRST CIRCLE HOUSE IS TO NOT HAVE A REC. And by rec, I mean a real rec that actually says that you are really, really awesome and the alum really wants to see you wear her letters and gives us info about you and your family that you can put on a resume.

some new row will cut you for no rec also, but a major difference between old and new rows is that the new are less focused on alum recs and the "info about you and your family that you can't put on a resume". Just an observation on differences in recruitment and pc results between houses and why some think old is better than new or new is better than old or whatever.
