question about last week's teas
by: Girls from near BhamI walked around with a group of my close friends. I actually saw girls.... Some were very pretty, others not so much..... Who were walking by themselves and went to the teas by themselves. Afterward an active friend said that the actives liked to see girls walk in alone and see how they act. She said one local pnm blew them away. She said the hs groups who stayed together were ok and I was like you didn't tell me to walk by myself instead of with my friends. She was like it depends what each house was looking for. So actives which way was best? I know at rush will be our Rho Chi groups.

there is not a good clear answer to this question, which is a good one. many in-state girls came to the teas in packs and stayed with their pack as they went from party to party. there were even a few oos packs like that. this is a mixed reaction. on the one hand, houses want to see that a pnm is social and popular with her peers. on the other hand, we also want to get to know you as an individual and want new members that have their own personality and are not just a member of the pink ladies or whatever. best bet is to avoid big packs and couple up. but the teas are over. you will not have this come up in recruitment. but in recruitment please try to stand on your own and make your own decision. leave the hs stuff in hs and move on to the next stage of your life. recruitment will work out better for you that way and also you will be happier. college is college. hs was hs. your old friends will still be friends if they are for real. but there is such a bigger world out there. the oos girls are awesome but so many in-state girls stay in a hs mentality freshman year. its sad.

My house loved seeing a pnm walk in alone and carry on a conversation with me and my sisters. There were a few that really stood out to us. There were a lot of large packs that came in. They usually talked among themselves and didn't really try to get us to talk to them. A lot seemed immature. We had pnms show up who were t invited but came cause they were with a friend who we did invite!!! I was like are you serious?? Guess they were misinformed by friends. Some houses might be ok with that but not at my house. Hope these individual pnms are as good as they seemed come August.

It is more impressive when they have the maturity and confidence to walk alone. The litter-mates are not so impressive except to other sheep.
