My rule of thumb is never have anything on your face that could distract a member you are talking to from the conversation. Nose ring, tongue ring, glitter eye shadow, purple eye liner. Just go neutral tones on makeup and keep the focus on what you're saying... Not what's on your face.

Being excessively picky. Duh, a tongue ring probably isn't a good idea, or any facial rings aside from ears and nose. But colored eye liner and sparkly eye shadow? C'mom now!

a majority of houses have too many actives that will judge you for it. not worth the risk unless you just don't want to compromise. if you are hell-bent to be "true" to yourself or whatever, then you would not want to be in one of those judgmental houses anyway. But just sayin that you will be cut pretty quick by the judgmental houses and you will be looking at only the houses that are very, very chill about personal tastes and freedoms. not very many of those. maybe DG or Theta. other chill houses on this kind of stuff include kappa, zeta, pi phi, but they are pretty selective and so you would probably be smart to put it away during recruitment.
