Rush Guide 2026
by: senior
Frat rush can be intimidating if you haven’t dirty rushed at all in the fall, so here’s a bit of advice for anyone considering joining in the spring.
First of all, focus on who you’re joining with. A lot of guys go through the process looking only at the brothers already in the house, but the guys joining with you should be an even bigger priority. Make connections with them because frats will consider who’s already friendly among their rushes when giving out bids.
After that, avoid the trap of joining for “clout”. Most of what you see on this site is a few frats that want to social climb (not naming names) spamming to make themselves look better. Join where you like the guys, and feel like you can be yourself and have fun. The guys I knew who joined a frat because it’s “better” or “higher ranked” all ended up dropping in a semester or two because they didn’t actually like the guys they joined.
That being said, there is a bare minimum level of viability which kind of correlates with ranking on this site that you should look for when joining. Are their finances good? Do they have disciplinary issues? Are their seniors engaged/are there disaffiliations? Are the meals good? Do they have a good rep on campus? Joining a house that’s stable and established on campus will make your life easier and more fun.
Finally, social ranking is useful but not as much as grinders here will try to tell you. You’re not going to start getting with hot chicks just because you joined a frat and you’re not going to get ignored by girls for joining another one. Here’s a general picture of just social standing:
