nah i dont know who this asu guy is but i do go to UT and I started following this page bc Cornell was one of the schools I wanted to go to... but someone close to me got in instead which made me jealous but when I learned she got in with poor test scores (but high GPA) I realized Cornell is sort of the consolation prize for being rich and above average... with the exception of their CS/Science/Engineering programs, Cornell students really are vastly different than even Brown or Columbia

after more research and comparing with my friend who was Valedictorian of my class and attends Penn for philosophy and biochem and my friend's dad who went to Princeton Engineering and later McCombs for his MBA, I realized how vastly different their undergrad school experiences and intellectual capacities are compared to a non-STEM Cornell like those on this site

But Cornell is objectively better than Brown (Athletes get "ranked" against the incoming class, and rules have it so that only a limited number of athletes are ranked "very low"). Friend of mine was ranked "very low" at Cornell, but "below average" at Brown.

Realistically, you're just overestimating how good UT Austin is (I seriously encourage you to transfer if you're all about top-jobs because genuinely 0 people around me knew your school existed).

It's fair criticism to say our prospects are more in-line with Duke/Northwestern/Brown/Dartmouth, but you really need a grasp over reality if you think UT-schools are somehow competing with us.

fine I've actually started doing more research since embarking on this trolldom and realized Cornell is probably better than Brown... Dartmouth otoh is still better because it has a solid focus on undergrad and some top tier undergrad experiences that rival those of Stanford and Princeton... in your opinion, would you have picked Brown over Cornell if you are not doing traditional STEM such as Econ or History?

^Yea, I actually chose Cornell over Brown for Econ (as did a handful of people I know, but I'm going to guess that people who didn't have the resources I did while choosing colleges would probably choose Brown tbh).
Why we're ranked unreasonably low is due to our "Human Ecology" school (which houses very unusual majors- i believe we're the only Ivy to have a "Fiber Sciences/Fashion apparel" major). These kids genuinely have bad grades and are roasted by the other students here.

I don't want to make another elitist argument, but I think the perspectives of students from "famous/top" private schoolers if pretty different from the perspectives of most students in the country (ie: we look for which schools have the strongest networks into top firms? Even a school like Middlebury could be favored over Hopkins in some regards)

HumEc is single-handedly dragging down the entire university- heard their acceptance rate is at 25% while engineering, a&s, and even cals are all wayyy below 10%.

This is literally why the university tried to kill the HumEc school but their alumni cried about it and protested.

If I HAD to take a guess- I bet "ugh" and "Eeeeee" were both written by the troll. Right now is exactly the right time for greek rank to be super-active (it's literally rush, and there were no parties).

i think Cornell is a fantastic school, and I would have picked Cornell over UT Austin anyday but i need therapy to get over getting rejected from even the lowest Ivy...and until I can get therapy (or until first exams) I will troll this site
