Lambda vs. ChiPhi

both just sit next to each other on Edgemoor. Chi Phi is extremely fratty/rowdy, basically a poor mans DU. Have a good brohood and party hard but have nonexistent C4 relations which is what is preventing them from making the full jump into upper. Very very challenging to get a bid at. Probably 275+ guys going to check them out, they generally take classes of 20 and probably have 60% of the set excluding the kids who will leave them for snap bids from upper tier frats(AD, Sig Pi). More or less competing for one of 15 open bids excluding dirty rush.
Lambda is fratty/rowdy but not like old Lambda which as you may have seen on this site was a firm upper tier/borderline top frat pre 2017. Bro who went here said they won bids from top frats back then. Simply not at that level anymore and will be a while before they are definately not in our time at Cornell. Nowhere near as competitive as Chi Phi. More or less the safety bid for a lot of guys rushing the top/upper/Chi Phi, Chi Psi, DX segment. In general expect to see around 175-250 guys check them out. They did a lot of bid dumps over the last 3 classes to actually have a large brohood as over half their house is sophomores. But given they want to get back to where they were, expect to see them bid more stingely and target a 20 man PC that is higher quality than the past. Probably have close to 30-40% dirty rushed. Still a very challenging bid to get.

What about in terms of vibes? What type of house are they in relation to ChiPhi and Lambda?

much much much softer. If Chi Phi is 100% fratty and DX is 0%, Chi Psi is operating around the 20-30% range. If you are targeting Chi Psi, would rush PSK/PhiTau as safeties as they are similar. More soft/preppy vibes than those two.

Honestly I'd argue that ChiPsi's newest PC are pretty rowdy; they could possibly go back to being a rowdy frat like they were 2015 depending on this PC. Also I wouldn't say preppy is a differentiating factor above uppermid. Like Cornell is an ivy so every frat uppermid and up is gonna be preppy, even if it's more prevalent and obvious at frats like SigPhi and AD.

Chi Psi is similar in difficulty if not slightly higher than Chi Phi. Same amount of guys check them out. Have heavy momentum to rise as they will be graduating their weakest class who is in all honesty a borderline mid/upper mid. Their last spring class was stacked and extremely good but they had an abysmal fall rush where guys ditched them for DX and Lambda. This rush probably decides their future for the next couple of years. If they can take a good class like last year and make up for fall rush, they can jump ahead of Chi Phi/DX.
