Chance Me -- gauging my rush strategy
by: chance meHi, so I'm a freshman planning on rushing. I consider myself fairly preppy and I went to a New England prep school (won't say the actual name). Only two other kids from my grade are here so guess if you will. I went to collegetown like twice this semester so I basically met like no frat guys going into this. TBH I barely know the older guys that go here -- pretty sure one of them is in AD and another in DX. What frats should I be looking at? I figure SigPhi, AD, and DX might be a decent fit, maybe I can pull something out of these loose connections? Some of my friends are looking at Lambda, but idk. Should I go all in on the upper frats? Really don't see myself joining a mid or fratty house.

AD, Sig Phi are a longshot even if though you went to a new england prep school. You will find a plenty of guys who went to those schools and other top private schools in NYC and other areas in mid frats as well. AD is very fratty and rowdy so that does not seem like a fit. I would say check them out, you never know but your best chance might be DX if you really want a preppy frat. Personally, just get over it and rush like Sig Phi, Chi Psi, DX, PSK (preppiest mid frat) and spread it out.

but realistically, check them out but I would not count on them to really work for you. AD probably has 95% of their class picked while DX is probably around 50-60%. Check them out but check out other places as well.

You honestly have a better shot of getting a bid by rolling up to the sx annex and ripping a denotator shotty than following your plan. At least you'd stand out.
