What's Lambda's Vibe?
by: questionI know lambda used to be a very rowdy house prior to sopro, but I've heard they've changed since they got back on campus. What's new lambda like in terms of vibes and brotherhood?

not sure bc i’m not a brother, but got a bid there and didn’t choose it. I know a couple guys in lambda and are good friends with them. They definitely have preppy guys that are chill into sports whatever, but my main knock was they felt disjointed. It felt to me more of a drinking club than a fraternity in that the real brotherhood was missing.

As above has said, they have good picks in their classes but have a very fractured brotherhood. The seniors are the only ones that really went through the period of SoPro together. Their Fall PC 19, and Spring PC 20 went through what can be considered bid dumps to fill their house by bidding hella guy. They got their house up to the average of around 50 pre spring rush but in turn, very fractured brohood in comparison to other house. But at the same time, they likely will not be doing it anymore and will be much more selective now. So future looks good.

Based on the vibes I'm interested in rushing lambda this spring; are they hard to get a bid from and do they dirty rush a lot?

so I am unsure of what direction they will go in. At this point, they are very likely looking to get back to pre 2017 Lambda, where they were a top 7 frat on Campus. Given they have filled the house, I would assume they are going to much more selective with bids now. At the same time, with dirty rush, p much every house mid or above does it/has kids they already they know will give bids to if they don't have them locked down. So I would estimate Lambda probably knows 30-40% (5-10) of their bid allocation at this point. Probably looking to bid another 25-30 to get a PC of 20-25 (including the dirty rush guys they gave bids too). Probably around 150-200 guys check them out, so it is feasible (people get dinged pretty easily) but still will be challenging.
As a senior, one of my biggest regrets was not checking out houses of opposite vibes of the one/type I joined due to the time constraints. So I would highly advise despite knowing you want a fratty vibe check out the frats known for being softer from C4 mid and above just to make sure you truly don't fit it.
