What are the reputation/vibe for each sorority?
by: froshIm rushing this fall and I want to know the vibe of each sorority ex. which ones are considered chill, friendly, nice?

DG & PiPhi are a hit or miss- some are very friendly but some are also fake af.

Kappa??? Some of the girls are super nice but overall they have a lot of stuck up girls and have been known to be rude while rushing girls or make girls cry during rush.

lol yes kappa. they didn’t make a girl cry, she yelled at their rush chair about her sister getting cut and brought out her phone to show them a list of reasons why they made a mistake... did you miss the memo on that, or what
all of Panhellenic heard about this because the board had to vote whether or not to let her pursue recruitment

@uh That might be another girl but I’ve had several friends on the brink of tears or crying during rush while a girl in kappa was rushing them

i think it is so funny when people say dg r rude when it can easily be that they just have boundaries and aren't sucking up to everyone because they don't have to. with that being said, judge for yourself if a house is genuine or not during rush not from a site filled with obvious bias

It doesn’t matter how socially “exclusive” a house is deemed to be. If you’re so “cool” that you don’t need to be nice to people, you’re probably rude or a pretentious snob.

if not letting people drain your energy in order to seem like a nice girl is ur vibe then join literally any other house, but if certain girls don't owe you their time then certain houses should not get put down for that. ur entitled to ur opinion on what makes a house nice and what makes them snobby for i guess.

also never said that they aren't nice because they are so "cool" that sounds like a projection. Again, just because a few girls from a certain strat seem cold does not make them snobs they just don't waste time pretending. If that is not ur vibe then there are many other houses that "seem" to have a "warmer" vibe. Again, all up to you to figure out.

all im sayin is i opened a bid card from deeg on bid day 2 years ago and dropped recruitment right then and there lol. i kept them around way too long bc my friends told me they had clout, but when it came down to it and i somehow ended up with a bid from them instead of my other house, i dropped :/

i hated every single moment i spent there during rush but never cut them bc my friends all said it was “unheard of” to cut deeg. apparently they never cut me either. for pref i had deeg and another house (one that i wont name but is way more genuine and is better in every way in terms of values and sisterhood) and put the other house first.
apparently deeg had me high on their bid list bc i got a bid from them instead of the other house (which, future pnms: thats how the algorithm works) and after opening my bid and seeing the other girls who got bid cards from them, i decided not to show up to bid day and didnt join.
PSA: don’t keep a house around if you don’t like them just because they “have clout” or status above another srat. you might end up getting them and its a nightmare.

I am so sorry that happened. You are right PNMS should deffo say away from houses that they do not feel like the fit in even if the house has "clout." May I ask why rush in particular for DG was awful? Was the house themselves or just the experience?

well the first reason why i rejected my bid from deeg was that i saw the girls who also had bid cards from deeg on bid day (all in the lobby of bailey waiting to be picked up) and they were all of the mean and shallow girls that i already had disliked and who had been rude to my friends and i. i would not have stayed in a pledge class that they were in.
what made me uncomfortable while rushing deeg though was that it seemed so rehearsed. i watched members walk away from convos with pnms, rolling their eyes and frowning to other members as if to complain like "ugh this girl sucked" or "im miserable."then, as that same girl walked up to me, she'd turn on a big bright smile and act like we were best friends.
it was TOO clear to me who was a priority to them and who was not, and it made me uncomfortable to see the difference in treatment between the "priority" girls and "the others." it made me feel guilty about being liked, which is so messed up on so many levels.
beyond that, I didn't enjoy a single conversation. they're generally pretty bad at conversing, unless they were asking me questions, and they only did that when it was clear that they had been "assigned" to extract info from me: questions like "do you think you and your friend group will want to join the same house?" or "so about your roommate, X-- is she as social as you are?" So except for these tactful questions, I was always leading the conversation
tbh, felt kinda like talking to a wall when the only thing I was getting in response to anything I said was "yes, totally" or "I totally get you" or "uh huh, for sure". it all just felt fake and awkward, and they basically took a PC of the elitist bullies that terrorized my graduating class first semester
