Fraternity Tier Breakdown
by: @Frosh
Elite / Big Three
1a) Sig Chi
1b) Sig Phi
1c) DU
The three houses where you can make a case for top house. Hardest to get into by far, rarely pull bad PCs. Top choices for all sororities.
Upper
2) AD
3) Sig Pi
"Top Tier" houses, but a cut below the Big Three in terms of selectivity and desirability. Both have been marred with scandals too, with largely unfavorable reps across campus. Still very highly sought by sororities.
Upper / Upper Mid
4) DX
5) Chi Psi
6) Llenroc
7) Lambda
8) Chi Phi
9) ZBT
10) TDX
Pretty much all the debate surrounds this tier. Most of them have had issues with the university with several national scandals. Difficult to join and decent reps among non-c4 sororities. Limited C4 relations.
Mid / Lower Mid
11) Pike
12) Pi Kapp
13) Phi Sig
14) Sammy
15) Phi Tau
16) Kappa Sig
17) DKE
18) Phi Dry
19) AGR
20) AEPi
Largest tier in terms of #s with a large range of vibes. Some are typically fratty and others are mainly soft boys. Fairly easy to join and often considered "target frats" for rush. The first five have strong reps with mid and lower tier sororities, the other five are works in progress.
Lower / Bottom
21) DTD
22) Beta
23) Seal & Serpent
24) Zeta Psi
25) Rockledge
26) TKE
Markedly worse relations than the mids and hard not to get a bid from. Very few contributions to the social scene beyond pledge parties and occasional mixers. Decent brotherhoods and lack of scandals (outside of ZPsi a couple years ago).
Bottom
27) KDR
28) Acacia
29) AZ
30) SCD
31) ALM
Mixers once in a blue moon and very scarce parties. Two are coed, one is religious-based, and the other two are academic-oriented. Probably the least understood of the tiers.
