how hard is getting into a top 6 frat?

It's not "hard" it's just all who you know. If you don't know anyone in those frats then work hard your first weeks of college to find a connection that'll get you in touch with them or to their rush events. If you have good friends in any frat you have at least a 50/50 shot but if you just kinda know someone from HS in them then that's a little less but certainly doable IF you're what they want.

ATO and Phi Sig are still fun, have mixers (ATO mixed with ADPi and Phi Sig mixed with ZTA for example) but those frats certainly wont know as many people or be in the main tailgate lots next year. On events like halloween and such their parties will be slightly, but noticably less crowded and the girls might not all be from upper tier sororities there.

Outside the top 6, phi sig, aepi, lambda, and maybe beta/theta chi/ato are worth it as of right now.

If you want to be in ato you are in, lol. But really tons of guys won't even get bids from the TKE lambda dke Fiji type frats even though they take a bunch of weirdos they still take kids they're friends with.

You personally, will find it impossible, because you're queer. Once you, amongst 90% of other rushees don't get a bid to those houses you'll find the other options will make you friends and help you meet people too

It isn't hard at all if you're cool and know people. If you know nobody and aren't cool then you won't get a bid.
