sorority comments

Ok this is an honest question.. but I heard that some houses cut based off of zip code. Is this true? I'm from a small town but would easily be able to pay dues.

Even if that were true in some houses which I am not saying it is true there would be other houses you could go to. A&M is a non cut system where everyone that uses puts the maximum number on her card each day will get a house. Being able to pay or not there is a place for you. Be open to all the houses and not just the ones that may or may not care what your zip code is. Aggie Greek 12 strong!!!!

Ok I don't know why everyone is mad at me? A friend from a different school said that the sororities at her school base off of zip code. I am from a different state, know no one here and am giving all houses a fair chance. I worked all throughout high school to be able to pay for things in college, one of which being a sorority. I am a legacy but I am not sure it is the best fit for me so I am considering all houses that I feel comfortable in. I don't know anyone at A&M and I don't want to ask a dumb question to a Rho Gamma, I'd be embarrassed for other PNMs to hear this question which is why I am asking anonymously on here. I am sorry I offended anyone, I just don't want to get cut from all the houses based off of my zip code. I am a hard worker and want all the sororities to give me a fair chance since I am giving them one. I just want to know if all the A&M houses do the same thing as the sororities at my friend's school. That is all.

I think it's obvious she is being open. She is a legacy but isn't set on the house... that's what some of my sisters did. Stop picking on her she only asked an honest question.

Really, some of you actives are acting hormonal. Let's face it. Her question has merit and zip codes are considered. She sounds like a very typical freshman with a valid question. Gig 'em.

The Rho Gammas told her that this was not the website to use for answers to anything. She is trying to find out what the top houses are and just go to them. If she was a quality girl she would have stayed of this website like the Rho Gamma's told them to do. She is not open to all the houses she think she is better than some of them and is worried her zip code will keep her out of them. She needs to just go through recruitment with an open mind and not worry what house takes the best zip codes only. The answer is yes though THE TOP HOUSES DO ONLY LOOK AT ZIP CODES AND HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE AND WHAT YOU CAN OFFER THEM MONEYWIZE.
