Seriously DO NOT worry too much about what "brands" are popular. I was the same way when I was going through recruitment and being on the other side I can tell you it will not make a difference what brand your clothes are. Just look cute and if you want to but a few expensive things that's not a bad idea but don't base everything on just your clothes. After talking to so many girls no one will notice or remember what you wore

If you come through looking like everyone else you're going to get lost. You need to have your own style. For example I hate Kendra Scott - I think it looks cheap. If I saw a girl in an insane amount of Kendra Scott it would definitely make me lose interest.
