Texas A&M Sorority Recruitment
by: LoomWhy do they squeeze all the house visits in 4 days? Other SEC schools have in house visits over 1-2 weeks so they can meet all the PNMs. At aTm, some girls get cut before even visiting all the houses? I think it's lazy, unfair and wrong. Do it right, aTm, or don't do it at all.

Oh please, you have no idea what you are talking about. The sororities at EVERY school make their first releases before ever meeting pnm's in person. Round 1 of recruitment is virtual at every school and the invitations and releases are basically already decided by the time the pnm's come to campus. Sororities spend all summer going through pnm's grades, resumes, videos, social media, recs, pnm's videos, and hometown/high school connections, and the chapters get their final numbers for Philanthropy from the number of pnm's actually participating in Go Greek.
And the only reason some schools have to extend their rush is when their classes have already started while rush is going on. Schools that complete rush before school starts like us only need 4-5 days to complete all three in-person rounds and it's completely doable even with the max of each round 10-6-2.

Your first statement had a good question. But then you ended it with being nasty, especially about something you clearly do not understand.
Look at it like this, when you see a job opening and apply for a job, they screen you based on your resume. You may never have an interview or meet with anyone in person before they decide you are not a fit for that position or their company.
Sororities can tell, from the most part, who is a fit by looking at social media, resumes and recs. Girls have all summer to advertise themselves. If your daughter did not do this, then she didn't take advantage of that opportunity.
And if a sorority knows a girl is not a fit, why would she want to be there anyway? Your daughter needs to focus on the chapters that want her, because every single one of them has amazing girls, a great philanthropy, mixers and social events and sisterhood.
Is this a rough process? Yes, it is and it can be downright awful for some. There are other ways to have a sisterhood on campus through women's orgs, if sorority rush isn't a fit. For girls who are introverts, shy and can't open up quickly to a stranger, this isn't an easy process. Recognizing strengths and weaknesses is an important life skill and you should help steer your daughter towards her strengths instead of attacking an entire system.
